"This year I personally have engaged students to work on an ambitious 30-minute drama I produced and directed. DFT Students took roles alongside professionals in roles as wide ranging as serving as camera assistant to assistant directors to production designers. From this experience students have learned the strictures and discipline of working in a totally professional manner on an industry standard set. They have acquired new skills and experience that can only inform their understanding and enhance their CV's. The resulting film is currently being considered for transmission on BBC meaning many of these students will get their first broadcast credits through this project." (July 2009)
